Joe Rendina to Announce College Selection Live

Joe Rendina, 2010 Michigan State Champion, will announce his collegiate selection live in LeBron James fashion when he chooses between Norht Carolina, Michigan State, and Cornell. The event will be webcast live on wrestlingaddix.com from Dundee High School. Hosting wil be Ryan Henderson and Brandon Mohr live at 3:30 Eastern Time on Thurday September 30.

SINGAPORE – Jenna Burkert (Middle Island, N.Y.) wrapped up competition on a high note. She defeated Christiana Victor of Nigeria, 3-1, in a tight final match in the women’s freestyle wrestling -60 kg weight class to finish fifth on Monday at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore

Lucas Sheridan (Concord, Calif.) advanced to the bronze medal match of Greco-Roman wrestling competition on the first day of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. He finished the day on the losing side of a close match with Ruslan Kamilov of Uzbekistan, 1-3, to wrap up competition 2-2.

The Big Red wrestling team will add ten members to its roster as the class of 2014. The class has been recognized as one of the best in the country (third by WIN magazine, fourth by TheOpenMat.com and D1CollegeWrestling.com and eighth by Intermat). The group represents eight different weight classes and six states.

Athletes from near and far, from yesteryear to this year participated in a festive tournament where winning was secondary to oiling up the joints, trying out some new moves, and meeting up with old friends.
