Last week, Lighthouse Wrestling was proud to promote the Sprawl & Brawl Duals, organized by the Journeymen Wrestling Club, under the leadership of Frankie Popolizio. However, as deep in talent as that event is, the 2010 Northeast Duals, also sponsored by the JWC, might just be the best accumulation of talent in one place at one time this early into the 2010/2011 season…With a field consisting of seven of the nation’s top 25 teams (13 of the top 50), LHW and Journeymen have one suggestion for you, MAKE IT A DOUBLE, by being in attendance for both of the JWC’s premier events. Fear The Turtle: 2x Suffolk Champ/2008 NYS Champion Collado Commits to Maryland

It is now being reported by InterMat that two-time defending Suffolk County Champion/2008 NYS Champion, Ken Collado has given a verbal commitment (can sign at any time) to the University of Maryland and their Head Coach, former Section XI legend, Kerry McCoy….The 2009 NYS placewinner (6th @ 112) is the latest member in what is already a very impressive recruiting class to join the Terrapins….He joins InterMat top-100 recruits Spencer Myers (#53; Projected as a heavyweight) and Frank Goodwin (#65; Projected as 133), as well as Jenkins Mozey (Projected as 125) and returning Pennsylvania State placewinner Mark Hartenstine (Projected at 141) as members of the class of 2010 to formally announce that they will be College Park, MD bound next Fall. Journeymen Wrestling Presents Mega Events: Sprawl & Brawl (Nov. 22); Northeast Duals (Nov. 28th)

As the calendar hits mid-November, three certainties await the fanatical wrestling fan…First, the college season is now underway and will absorb the majority of your free time for the next five months; Second, Thanksgiving will probably be the last time you are allowed to hit as much as you want without feeling guilty about hunger pains to your friend, child, neighbor, etc. (yes wrestlers, we see the dirty looks you give us when we pig out in front of you); and finally, we are only weeks away from two of the premier early season collegiate events, the Sprawl and Brawl and Northeast Duals, both presented by Frank Popolizio and the Journeymen Wrestling Club.
