It has been a while since my last musings, but that does not mean nothing has been happening in the Cornell wrestling world. As a matter of fact, we have been very busy and I am slightly surprised and disappointed that I have not heard many complaints about my silence.
We have made it through the first half of the season with our record unblemished and I am excited for what awaits us in the second semester. Considering our wrestlers are getting ready for finals, I feel it is an appropriate time to give them performance evaluations as well.

My wife loves the summer, my kids love the summer. I love when the summer ends. The end of summer symbolizes one thing: wrestling season is almost here.
I’m back from Omaha and still riding a high from the weekend. Every wrestler wrestled well whether in victory or defeat. I am so honored to be a part of the greatest NCAA tournament performance in Cornell wrestling history.

Cornell had a full weekend of wrestling with Lehigh on Friday evening and the New York Intercollegiate Championships all day Saturday and Sunday. We tied #8 Lehigh 15-15 and won the NY States, crowning five champions.

Sorry it took me an extra day to get this update out. We took the redeye back and I expected to write it on the plane flight back.
I was going to put this off until after the Body Bar but l figured I might as well get it over with. We lost a heartbreaker tonight. There were some absolutely amazing performances and an equal number of less than stellar performances. I will start with the positives.
Here are the results from the Binghamton Open. Most of our guys wrestled “unattached” which means they did not represent Cornell, and Cornell did not pay for any of their expenses.
The summer has passed by all too quickly, and the entire team has returned to Ithaca. We had a productive summer, and I am ecstatic to have everyone back. Actually this comes as no surprise to me since we had plus or minus 20 wrestlers training in Ithaca for all or part of the entire summer.
