Joe Rendina, 2010 Michigan State Champion, will announce his collegiate selection live in LeBron James fashion when he chooses between Norht Carolina, Michigan State, and Cornell. A rematch of top rivals Darrion Caldwell and Brent Metcalf is the Main Event of a seven-match card of wrestling bouts which will be showcased during the 2010 Beat the Streets Gala on Thursday, May 13.
President Brian Giffin, Beat the Streets Wrestling Inc. announced to its board in January that the time has come for New York City to expand opportunities for its youth by competing in state, regional and very soon, national level championships.

On January 2nd, 13 ambitious teams from around New York State will make the trip to Union-Endicott to compete in New York’s most competitive dual meet tournament. Often the tournament champion is selected by the New York State Sports Writers Association (NYSSWA) as the number one team in the state. Though they use many events in their final selection, it is the keystone event in their analysis.

Friday Night Lights was a smashing success at Johns Burns Park in Massapequa on Friday Evening July 10. Unlike the tension at other wrestling touraments, Friday Nigh Lights was a combination festival, reunion, wrestling tournament rolled into one. Contrasted with a baseball game in progress on the adjacent field, it was on the mat where you could find all the excitement and fans, not so much for America’s favorite past time.
