In a Suffolk County League III match, Smithtown East defeated Half Hollow Hills East 63-21 on January 19, 2011.

The action began quickly at 135 with Smithtown junior and recent tournament finalist Luke Outcault putting the Bulls out front by 6 with a pin over Hills East sophomore Matt Haenel.

At 140, the Bulls junior league finalist Eric Binder earned another pin this season in a rematch over tough Hills East senior Nick Terzi to put the Bulls up by 12.

Coach Billy Davey was forced to forfeit 5 weight classes due to injuries and a small squad this year and the action moved to 152 with league place winner and recent tournament finalist Casey O’Malley earning a pin over his senior counterpart Manny Caballero to increase the Bull lead to 24-0.

At 160 Hills East league champion Deshawn McNeil double legged his way to a win over Smithtown senior Scott Price 8-1 to put Hills on the scoreboard at 24-3.

At 171, Bulls senior league placewinner Nick Oliveri muscled his way to a win over Hills East sophomore Maleik Henry 8-1 to make the score 28-3. Hills East junior league placewinner Rami Saad El Din pinned Bull sophomore Jordan Alperin at the end of the first period to make the score 40-9 leading to the lower weights.

At 103, two freshmen tangled in a wild match with Joe Longo from Hills East overcoming a 13-1 score with a take down and pin over Darius Caporaso in the third period to give Hills East another 6 points.

Smithtown East junior league finalist Branson Berger worked his way to a technical fall over Hills East freshman Mike Macchia to increase the Smithtown lead to 57-15.

At 125, Bull senior Daniel Burns took down and pinned Hills East freshman Will Terzi in the first period increasing the score to 63-15.

In the last match of the evening, Hills senior league champion and county finalist Anthony Abidin bested Bull senior Don Riordan with a technical fall with the final score ending up Smithtown East 63 (4-0 in league and 11-8 overall) and Half Hollow Hills East 21 (0-4 in league and 5-8 overall).
