Nasty Greco Roman Takedown

Bout One – Wilson(rec) vs Palmer(blue)

The first bout featured 135 pound middle school contestants Will Willson of Staten Island and the Lions Wrestling Club. He faced Sateek Palmer of Manhatten of Roosevelt Island Middles school. Shateek is a three-times city champion

Bout Two – Jimenez(blue) vs Antoine(red)

The second primary school age bout featured Jorge Jimenez of the Bronx. He is a two-times psal champion. He squared off against Andre Antoine of Brooklyn. This match was contested at 150lbs.

Bout Three – Jaynes vs Campbell

In the first and only women’s bout Leigh Jaynes of the New York Athletic Club was challenged by Kelsely Campbell of Sunkist Kids. They contested at 130lbs/59kg. Jaynes has many creditions. She steps on to the mat coming off a fourth place finish at the U.S. Open. Campbell stepped onto the mat coming off a U.S. Open Championship in both 2009 and 2010.

Bout Four – Mango vs Ellis Coleman

The fourth bout showcased the only Greco Roman match at 145.5lbs/66kg. This match had some outstanding displays of athleticism which added to the excitement. This match-up featured Spenser Mango of New York AC against Ellis COleman of New York AC. Mango was a 208 and 2010 U.S. Open champion. Coleman was the 2010 FILA Junior Nationals champion.

Bout Five – Askren vs Fay

The fifth bout featured the first of the men’s freestyle exhibition at 163lbs/74kg. Ben Askren of Sunkist Kids faced Moza Fay of Gator WC. Askren was the 2008 U.S. Olympic trails champion and seventh in the 2008 Olympic Games. Challenging Askren was Fay, fourth in the 2010 U.S. Open.

Bout Six – Hrovat vs Cerminara

This bout was a battle of the heavyweights, 211.5lbs/96kg. Andy Hrovat of New York AC, a 2008 Olympic team member, battled Kyle Cerminara of . Cerminara

Main Event

Bubba Jenkins of Sunkist Kids stepped up to the plate to challenge Brent Metcalf after the two previous challengers were unable to participate in the event. Metcalf, the 2010 NCAA champion at 149 lbs paired off against Jenkins, the 2010 University Nationals Champion. After a first period that was won in the clinch, Metcalf dominated the 2nd period to win the bout.
