The Retell kid went through the season giving up only 2 back points in 44 matches. His record is 42-2 and one of the losses was when he wrestled up because the opposing 103 wouldn’t get on the mat with him. He breezed through the Class A championships with 2 first period pins and a 16-2 victory in the finals. He may be #5, but my money is on him to give the top 4 more than they can handle.

Retell proved himself by winning the Section II Division I State qualifier. This year the competition in Division II at 103 isn’t very strong. Along the way he defeated the defending State Champion from Vermont, so Blake is wrestling at a pretty high level. I don’t know about the rest of the State, but he is clearly the best in Section II at 103. That’s awesome for an 8th grader and his family, coaches, and friends are really proud of him.
