these are honestly horrible.. sorry lighthouse
there are some things i would change but they are definetly better then liwa’s new rankings
Fair enough, where did we go wrong?
119 should be 1.Alber 2. Falco 3. Abidin 4.Pelligrino 5. Lanzolatta 6. Palarmo
Well….It should be 1. Alber 2. Falco the other spots I think are close between the rest of them. Abidin Has a chance to beat Abler and Falco, if he wrestles tough.
your rankings at 160 and 285 or off chamish beat sutherland and is undefeated also zakian from jericho beat shalbey from uniondale ans tenney from fd this season
tuccillo is done and graziano beat danzenger from em

very good
UMM,good input, you may be correct on a few of these, but it’s more difficult than it looks. For example, T Reina defeated Levine 6-4 at 96. Why not have T. Reina ranked ahead? Doria defeated T. Reina 15-5. Seems like he should be there ahead of Levine and T. Reina. Sullivan defeated doria who defeated T. Reina, who defeated Levine. Now we know Raghunandan and Sewkumar belong up there, and we Raghunandan defeated Sewkumar 4-2.
We also know Herold is good, and there are some results that indicate he could be in the top 3 since he defeated Leshinger 6-5 at 103, but when they both wrestled at 96 at eastern states, Leshinger placed 2nd and Herold DNP. What do you do? It tells us something, and that’s the problem. There’s only one result in section 8 for Herold at 96. Real difficult to place him.
Person, that’s another tough one. He also only has one result at 96 against Levine who he defeated 2-0. Now Doria defeated Levine 15-5. Does that mean Person would not defeat him? No, but in the absence of any other information, to be objective, you give preference to Doria.
We also have a common opponent in Herold at 103 against Person, who he lost to 3-0. Now that score puts them around where T. Reina would be ranked. And thus the rational.
This kind of analysis is done for every weight. Of course errors are made.
Now if rankings are done fairly with a goal of being objective, then this is the kind of analysis that’s required. I believe rankings should be supported by results. That’s what we strive for.
herold has been out with an injury he dnp at eastern states bc he did not compete
umm theres no way tenny should be ranked over zakian
umm, theres no way tenny should be ranked over zakian
to bill miller,
here is my response
person beat levine 2-0…levine loses to reina in overtime…that was levines 1st match back after a big injury to his knee…herold didnt place at eastern states because he forfited bc or his shoulder injury. also doria never beat levine 15-5? well ur also saying doria would beat person because he beat reina and reina beat levine…well in this case also person beat herold, herold beat leshinger, and leshinger beat raghunandan, and raghunandan beat sewkumar, and sewkumar beat doria! there you go!
The point is that ranking wrestlers objectively is a lot harder than it looks, and it takes more time to do objectively than you realize.
If that was the only piece of information on Herold, it would have had more impact, but then the Eastern States happened. Rankers aren’t in the business of trying to guess how well a wrestler would have competed if they were healthy.
Information is key to doing this objectively, and when wrestlers haven’t competed enough at the weight they plan to finally compete at in the sections, the fair thing to do is to give preference to the wrestlers who have the match-ups at the weight that permit reasonable conclusions.
My only reason for responding is to help readers understand what’s involved in putting a ranking together and for the wrestlers to understand why they aren’t ranked when maybe they think that they should.
Rankings should never be a favorites list or a who you know list or who is lobbying list. In my view, it should be a list of who is getting it done on the mat based on results to the extent results permit it. Obviously early in the season, the results aren’t there so it’s more subjective, but as the season progresses, it should be less.
o and also sewkumar pinned reina
how come perez dropped to num. 2?
He has a deficit of results. The last published are in December.
