The mental game is extremely difficult to perfect. We indeed are our own worst enemies when it comes to the mind. Learning how to control your mind is the key element, but there are more efficient, up to date methods that help immensely.

Wow will great atricle everything in this article explains why we work so hard at the iron empire. I will make sure to show my coaches this and all your other articles I believe if any coach listens to wat you have to say about lifting and wrestling their team would elevate to new heights their school or club has never seen before. Your mentality is one of a kind and every wrestle, every coach, and every hard working athlete looking to improve their performance can learn a ton of crucial information needed to be a succesful athlete that almost everyone doesn't follow or attempts to and ends up getting it completely wrong and hurting themselves or the athletes they coach.

Yes , I remember that match. Biggest 126lber I ever saw. That is when my dad had the famous line you might recall. " How the hell did that kid make 126, what is he hollow!"

Interesting article. I agree with your points of eliminating negative thoughts and staying positive. Its also nice to see you quote our old SCSU wrestling coach Don Knauf. My favorite Knauf lines spoken to me just prior to stepping out on the mat to Wrestle the #1 rank Division I 126lb Steve Depetro from Northwestern Knauf shook my hand and chuckled "Good Luck". Then as I walked off the mat after being pinned for the first and only time in my life he said " Still think your a 26 lber? Get down to 18".
