Lighthouse and Themat to Simulcast Russian Dual Tonight

thematlogoUSA Wrestling will partner with Lighthouse Wrestling  to provide webcasts from two major international wrestling events held in New York City this weekend.

These events will be simulcast on both LighthouseWrestling.com, as well as on TheMat.com.


On Friday, November 20, the USA vs. Russia Dual meet in men’s freestyle wrestling held at the New York Athletic Club will be webcast. The competition begins at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday, November 22, the championship finals of the New York Athletic Club International Freestyle Championships will be webcast. The finals are scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

The U.S. team for the Friday dual meet will include 2009 World silver medalist Jake Herbert (Evanston, Ill./New York AC) at 84 kg/185 lbs., plus 2009 U.S. World Team members Shawn Bunch (Columbus, Ohio/Gator WC) at 60 kg/132 lbs. and Trent Paulson (Ames, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) at 74 kg/163 lbs.

The Russian team will feature 2009 European champion Nariman Israpilov at 55 kg/121 lbs., plus Russian Nationals runners-up Arsen Mairov at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. and Anzor Urishev at 84 kg/185 lbs.

On Sunday, the New York AC International Freestyle Championships will feature many top wrestlers from the United States, as well as talented competitors from a number of other countries. Competition will be in both men’s freestyle wrestling and women’s freestyle wrestling.

USA Wrestling’s Craig Sesker will assist with the broadcasts along with Jason Bross, Jason Layton, and other special guest commentators.
