It is difficult to see how Rosholt is ahead of both Ellis and Dudziak who were an overtime close in last year’s NCAA finals. Dudziak beat Rosholt (again overtime) and should be ranked ahead.
Same for Caldwell over Metcalf with 2 wins to one over him. Of course, it is difficult to have a formula that makes everyone happy. Appreciate your efforts

    Thanks for the feedback.

There are 2 areas of the formula that are problematic, and I don’t know how to deal with it. The first one is if a wrestler redshirts in the year before the current year, they take a big hit for that because they get zero points for 2008. Points in 2008 are weighed more heavily than points in 2007. On the other hand, should a wrestler who performed that year not have an advantage in the formula? I don’t know.

The other problem is i didn’t have information in years 2008, ’07, ’06, and ’05 for each of the weight classes, so I made an assumption that may not hold true for those years. The one input i’m missing for those years is the year of eligibilty for each of the wrestlers in each bracket. If I could get that, I would rework the ranking with the new information.
