An Interview with Howie Greenblatt (Part 4: Influences)
LHW: What are your expectations for next season? Will you win another county tournament title again? Will you be the top Dual meet team in Nassau County Again?
HOWIE: As you already know we graduated 6 Nassau County place winners this season, but as always my goal is to improve throughout the season and win the Nassau County Championships. We return a great group of kids who are very eager to work. Our leaders are very experienced and our not so well-known’s have been working hard. There are other teams this year who I think will make a legit run: Uniondale, Massapequa, Farmingdale, and Wantagh, to name a few.
LHW: How do you want to be remembered?
HOWIE: As a man that cared about the kids as well as the sport. Like most successful coaches, I love wrestling…But above all else, I really love helping kids to see their dreams come to fruition. My legacy will be all of the great things that my former wrestlers go on to do later in life.
LHW: Thank you coach for taking the time to talk with us and for sharing your story. We wish you and your team much success this season.

A Coach who takes his student athlete to the highest challenge he may reasonbly be expected to be successful at.
That’s Coach Howard. He runs a “Program” for his SA: not just
an extra-curicular activity.
And his creation..what do you call it?..the L.I.Challenge
is terrific.
Well done, and continued success. AC
